Soledad on one side. It is home to a wide variety of destinations and attractions, and its closest neighbors are also popular resort communities – the City of Del Mar to the north and the Pacific Beach neighborhood to the south.

Known as “the jewel of San Diego,” La Jolla’s legendary beauty has never ceased to attract some of the world’s wealthiest families and individuals. Many have been enticed to be a homeowner here, particularly on the waterfront where you’ll find some of the most beautiful and most expensive homes in San Diego County. A popular destination in the area is the mile long La Jolla Shores Beach, which boasts a wide, crescent-shaped shoreline with fine white sand. Just minutes away is La Jolla Cove, a nine square mile ecological preserve featuring picturesque rocky coves inhabited by seals and sea lions.  North of the community is Torrey Pines State Reserve, a coastal state park covering 3 square miles. Perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean, Torrey Pines is a great place to spend time in nature, whether you’re bird and wildlife watching or conquering its famous trails.  The area is also home to the Torrey Pines Golf Course, a famous PGA Tour stop and a venue for major PGA and LPGA tournaments. The golf course has been named one of the best municipal golf courses in the country by prestigious golf publications.  It’s not all about water and nature activities in La Jolla. The waterfront Downtown area is also a great destination, with its excellent collection of top rated restaurants and upscale shopping districts. Downtown also hosts a number of wonderful museums, including the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, the Map and Atlas Museum of La Jolla, and the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library.
