Living in Coronado

Approximately one million tourists visit Coronado every year, and many of them decide to stay for good. The city provides the much desired active waterfront lifestyle – and so much more. With its rich history and abundant open spaces, there is also more to see and do away from the water. Coronado’s famous beaches are perfect for swimming, surfing, sailing, paddleboarding, and a host of other water activities. Along the coastline are miles of trails and lush green parks where you can bike, run, do sports, and more.  The city offers unique attractions that you can’t find anywhere else, such as the Coronado Tree Tour, where you can learn about the city’s history and rich local flora while taking a leisurely walk along Spreckels Park. If you love golf, you will enjoy playing at the Coronado Municipal Golf Course, one of the city’s most loved destinations. For a slice of history, visit Coronado Museum of History and Art. You can also catch a local community production at the Lamb’s Players Theater or visit an art exhibit at the Coronado School of the Arts. For shopping and dining, explore the charming boutiques and first rate restaurants along Orange Avenue, as well as on the beachfront boardwalk or at Coronado Ferry Landing. And there’s the legendary Hotel del Coronado to explore. This historic waterfront hotel has hosted some of the most famous personalities in the world since 1888, and remains one of the most enduring and best loved attractions in all of California.
